One Way Links
One way links are far more effective than reciprocal links. One way links are where one site links to another site that does not link back to it. Getting one-way-links is near impossible but by following a couple of simple guidlines it is possible to find your site linked to from all over the Internet within a short space of time. One of the best methods: Simply build a site that people would want to link to. Generally this means building a site that "does what it says" and doing it well. People visiting your site who have their own sites often link to sites that they find; useful, entertaining, important etc.
BEWARE:
One of the most dangerous pitfalls of trying to get one-way-links is to accept the offer of a one way link from another site. You may recieve an email that states that they have added your site to their page at such a url and when you go there, sure enough, the link is there and all in order. You think, great, the perfect link, and then you place the link that they had requested (to another site) on your site. However, in nearly ALL cases the link you have been shown has NOTHING to do with the person who has approached you!!!! Ask them to change it slightly and you will never hear from them again - or if you do it will be a strange explanation on the reasons why it would be foolish for you to have it changed or why they can't change it - the truth is they can't change it because they do not own the site that your link is on! Think about it ;-)
We have found that most SEO companies have no scruples and will gladly damage your site to get a tint amount of gain for their client. The little trick shown above is widely used (but not exlusively) by the top Asian SEO companies. They use many other tactics to boost their clients to the top of the search engines and nearly all of them are unethical. Be aware of this when dealing with such companies but also be aware that the owner of the site being promoted may not be aware of the underhand tacts being used by their SEO company!
NOTE: More often than not the intiial email request to trade one way links will be from an email address @gmail.com or another type of free email service. It is extremely adviseable that you only do business with people who use email addresses that are tied to a web site that you can visit. These people use these free email addresses for a reason THEY ARE CROOKS.
You have been warned!
