Health Resources

All over the Internet you will find a wealth of information about every aspect of health. Of course most will have a, not so, hidden agenda of pushing their latest wonder drug, self healp course, health drink or other treatment. You will see a massive amount of research data backing up their claims on how thier medicine works. However few are of any authority and some are plain dangerous.

Using health resources on the Internet requires a large pinch of salt (not so great for the heart apparently!). There are many resources that offer a great deal of help and advice which can prove incredibly useful. It is always important to discuss all health matters with your family doctor before any drugs are used or any changes in diet are made. This is most important if you are already taking prescription drugs.

When visiting a health resource it is always worth taking a look to see if the writers or owners have any medical qualifications. This may seem obvious but as I write this the closest I have to a medical certificate is my health & hygiene certicifate earned when I was very young. The truth is that I could lie about my

qualifications and build a glossy looking web site all about health, put a few pictures of medical equipment and suitably place photographs of nurses and doctors, and, before you know it I am a genuine Internet health guru with my own surgeries or salons.

Possibly the best health resources are those that give general advice. This may seem strange but consider the simply stuff before you proceed into the complicated. When you have digested the basic information you can progress to the heavy duty health resources that offer all levels of advice. However it is crucial that you verify EVERYTHING you read and the likelihood is that if the same information appears all over the Internet it is more than likely true - however I would, even then, still discuss things with a medical professional, such as my doctor.
