Hair Care
Our hair is possibly the most important thing that other people see! Yes you could have spent hours putting on the perfect face but if your hair doesn't match.... A good hair care regime is all important and is as important as a skin care regime.
It is extremely important to use the correct tools for the job. It is no use using a hair care product for normal hair if you suffer from greasy hair. Greasy hair needs a deep cleansing shampoo that can remove the grease. The conditioner used must be light, sufficient to bring shine and resilience but not too strong as to increase the problem. It is always important to only wash hair when it is dirty, not daily. Washing hair too often can make any problems far worse, greasy hair can end up greasier and dry hair drier, even normal hair that is washed too often can end up dry and difficult.
If your hair has been damaged it is very important to use hair care products that have been very carefully formulated to help repair this damage and return it to perfect health. Very damaged hair may benefit from hot wax treatment or henna. It is also very important to reduce any further damage. Good conditioners can help but many hair care products now contain substances that protect your hair from sun damage, it is well worth finding a hair product, that contains sunscreen, that is suitable for your hair type.
After you have washed your hair it is very important that care is taken to avoid damage. Wet hair is more easily damaged than dry hair! Don't rub your hair frantically, dry it gently using a wide toothed comb and a good hair dryer. Using a thin toothed comb or a brush on wet hair can lead to damage, a brush should only be used on dry hair (or slightly damp if you must).
Once washed and dried hair care is not finished. There are many advantage to regular visits to the hairdresser, as well as always looking great a regular trim reduces the number of split ends. A visit every two months should be fine but every 6 week s is better. Even when you are attempting to grow your hair long trimming is just as important to keep your hair manageable. While at your hairdressers you can ask what hair care products they are using. Often these products are available to purchase from the salon. Professional hair care products can give you that salon feel every day and are not as expensive as you may think.
If you are at the salon to get your hair colored or a perm please ask the advice of the hairdresser. The hairdresser has training and can easily advise you on what is best for your style, skin type and general health of your hair. Getting such treatments too often can leave you with damaged and ugly looking hair. You don't always need to have your hair done at the salon as part of your hair care regime. There is a massive selection of hair colors available that can be used at home. However I would advise the first color be done professionally followed by a few goes yourself and then, maybe, another visit to the salon.
Following the tips above should leave you with a hair care regime that cares for your hair and keeps it looking fresh and lively rather than dull and lifeless. If disaster strikes please visit a salon rather than attempting a home repair, you might end up making things worse :-O
