Christmas

Christmas is the time for giving? But Christmas is also a time for forgiving! We often think "can it really be 12 months since last Christmas?" in utter disbelief of how fast time flies. Christmas is a special time of celebration with family and friends but a great many people suffer at Christmas, the truth being that it is the worst time of the year for suicides. Not very festive you may say? But consider this, you WILL know somebody that will not be finding this Christmas the jolly time that all of us expect. It may be a once close friend or a member of your family that you have not spoken to for a very long time. Maybe they hurt you? Maybe you have already forgiven them but you just can't bring yourself to contact them. What better way to break the ice than with a small card and gift just to say Happy Christmas. You do not need to spend a fortune as the old saying "It's the thought that counts" can really ring true. That small gift, given at Yuletide could bring a relationship back together!

Now that you have decided to purchase a gift where do you start? The easiest thing to do is to purchase something related to Christmas with a little humor for good fortune. OK not such a brilliant idea but there are just so many variables when choosing a gift for somebody. It is always an advantage to know their hobbies, likes, dislikes or even allergies or phobias - wouldn't it just be awful if you bought somebdy a christmas present and it transpired that they were allergic to it?

I have always considered these various facts when purchasing a present for somebody but, just to make sure I have the right present, I ask myself one very simple question - would I like to recieve the item as a christmas present? If not I look again and again until I have found, what I consider to be, the perfect gift!
